Alhambra Venture

Thanks to our friends at Ceuta Open Future, an initiative driven by PROCESA and Telefónica, last week we had the opportunity to present Kikoto before hundreds of investors at the most important investment event in Andalusia: Alhambra Venture. We were joined by fellow startups from our accelerator, with whom we shared insights and supported one another.

In the attached photo, you can see the three founding partners of Kikoto at our stand, engaging with numerous investment funds and interested investors. It was an enriching experience for our team as it was our very first investment fair.

The day started strong, as we were the seventh startup to pitch. Our CEO, Rafael Bentolila, explained in just four minutes, in a simple, direct, and effective way: what Kikoto is, what we’ve achieved so far, our next goals, and how we would allocate potential investment. Investors ranked us as the eighth-best tech startup among more than 40 participants, making the result very satisfying for a first-time appearance at such an event. However, we believe we can do even better in the future and will come more prepared for the next editions.

The experience we gained at this event will be very useful in the future. We also made valuable contacts, not only with investors but also with startups for potential synergies and companies that can help us secure public grants and subsidies.

The road to Alhambra Venture wasn’t easy. We spent over a month in the "Academy" of Ceuta Open Future, where we received excellent training on how to perform at these types of events—from how to pitch in an elevator to how to gesture effectively during a startup pitch. We would like to thank the Ceuta Open Future team for their hard work before the event, and especially the amazing team in Granada: Paola, Marco, and Javier. Your commitment to the startups of Ceuta, and especially to Kikoto, was key to our success and helped us proudly represent Ceuta.
