Kikoto boosts its international expansion at the 1st Ceuta Tech Summit
The city of Ceuta hosted the first edition of the Ceuta Tech Summit on April 28 and 29, bringing together startups, investors, accelerators, and technology experts with a clear objective: to position Ceuta as a strategic hub for entrepreneurship and innovation between Europe and Africa.
Organized by the Autonomous City of Ceuta together with Alhambra Venture, the event took place at the Revellín Auditorium Theater and focused on attracting talent, the internationalization of projects, and the consolidation of a strong tech ecosystem in the region.
A showcase for startups with global potential
During the event, 7 selected startups presented their projects in pitch rounds to national and international investors. From tech solutions for the tourism sector, like Kikoto, to proposals in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and environmental sustainability, the range of ideas was as broad as it was ambitious.
Kikoto, a ferry ticket booking platform already operating in Spain and Morocco, stood out for its organic growth model and its ability to retain users (9 out of 10 come back). In his presentation, Rafael Bentolila (CEO of Kikoto) discussed their plans for international expansion, targeting new destinations and strategic partnerships.
Ceuta, a magnet for entrepreneurship
The Ceuta Tech Summit was conceived not only as a showcase for emerging projects but also as a meeting space for investors, institutions, and established companies that see Ceuta as a place with great potential for innovation.
In addition to the pitch rounds, the event featured talks and roundtables on new financing opportunities, digital talent, and public-private collaboration, as well as networking areas designed to foster partnerships between the different actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
A long-term commitment
With this event, Ceuta not only invites talent and investment but also demonstrates its intention to become a tech hub in southern Europe. The success of this first edition strengthens the will to establish the Ceuta Tech Summit as an annual event for entrepreneurs on both sides of the Strait.
Institutional support, the growing involvement of the entrepreneurial community, and the quality of the projects presented show that Ceuta is determined to play a leading role on the global tech map.
