A New Horizon in the Strait: Trasmapi Stands Firm

The Ibizan ferry company Trasmapi has reaffirmed its commitment to maritime expansion and connectivity by relaunching its project on the Algeciras-Ceuta route. Through its subsidiary Ceuta Lines, the company aims to establish a competitive, modern, and sustainable connection that benefits both residents and travelers in the Strait of Gibraltar.

A renewed project with a future vision

Trasmapi had previously attempted to operate this route, but conditions at the time were not favorable. However, its determination to offer a differentiated service has led it to reactivate the line with a fleet prepared to compete in quality and efficiency.

Frequencies and services tailored to demand

The proposal includes four daily departures during the low season, ensuring flexibility and comfort for users. The company is committed to providing a fast and accessible service that meets the needs of residents, tourists, and the commercial traffic characteristic of the area.

Impact on maritime transport in the Strait

Trasmapi’s entry into this route brings healthy competition that could benefit users through more competitive fares and improved services. The Algeciras-Ceuta connection is key for both freight transport and passenger mobility, and this initiative promises to further energize the region.

Ceuta Lines

Ceuta Lines operates the high-speed ferries Fairweather and Chenega, built in the United States and modernized in Spain. These vessels can carry 400 passengers and 65 vehicles, and also feature roll-on/roll-off cargo lanes, providing an efficient mixed service for both passengers and freight.
